Wurstfest 2025: New Braunfels’ 10-Day Salute to Sausage & Beer

Wurstfest returns Friday, November 7–16, bringing oompah beats, brats on the grill, and steins clinking along the Comal. It’s the Hill Country’s most joyful mash-up of Alpine tradition and Texas fun—right in the heart of New Braunfels.

When & Where

The festival runs ten straight days on the Wurstfest Grounds by Landa Park (near the headwaters of the Comal River). Gates and hours vary by day—plan your visit with the official schedule before you go.

What to Expect

Think wall-to-wall polka, dancing, carnival rides and games, and rows of food booths serving German favorites—schnitzel, Kartoffelpuffer, pretzels—and plenty of German, Texan, and domestic beer. It’s family-friendly, lively, and easy to make a full evening of it.

Traditions & Live Music

Opening night features the beloved biting of the sausage and keg tapping—a quick, spirited ceremony that kicks off the party. Across five stages you’ll find more than 40 acts through the week; perennial crowd-pleasers like Alex Meixner are on the bill again this year.

Come hungry. Local legends keep the grills hot all week—don’t miss festival staples like the New Braunfels Smokehouse favorites (hello, Wurstkabob with five sausages) along with turkey legs, ribs, and sweet endings.

Tickets, Admission & New Additions

Good news for families: Kids 12 and under are free every day. Admission is free Monday–Thursday for everyone, and buying tickets online saves compared to gate prices on the weekend. A new Wasserplatz pavilion adds covered seating this year.

Quick price note: At the gate, weekend admission is listed at $20 (Fri/Sun) and $30 (Sat); online discounts are available. Check the official site for the latest daily hours and pricing updates.

Getting There (and Getting Around)

Parking around Landa Park is tight during peak hours. Consider the official Park & Ride from the Comal County Fairgrounds; hotel shuttles and rideshare pick-up zones are marked near the grounds. Expect some temporary road closures near Landa Street and Hinman Island—give yourself extra time.
